![]() Denver, Co 9/1/10 - Remember the songs that used to make you Rockaway? Those were the days…..to feel good, dancing to a reggae song. As Beres Hammond headlined the “For the Love of It” tour in Denver this past Wednesday night, he, along with Lenya Wilks, Culture and Inner Circle transformed the packed house into a reggae heaven. Wondrous rhythms, legendary songs, and a loving and grateful crowd in attendance helped to breed the rare condition of Reggaemylitis throughout the packed Cervantes’ Ballroom. What can you say about Don Carlos? One of reggae’s more unacknowledged superstars, Don Carlos brings to the stage one of the sweetest voices you will ever hear. This past Friday, as he took the stage at ReggaeMovement.com’s Denver Reggae Series, he filled Cervantes’ with the sweet roots of reggae’s yesteryear with a melodic treat for all to hear.
Bob Marley was the Johnny Appleseed of Reggae; as he toured the world in the late 70’s, he dropped little seeds of reggae that have sprouted over the years. Katchafire, who in their first trip through Colorado played ReggaeMovement.com’s Denver Reggae Series this past month, is a perfect example of just how strong the global reggae movement has become within the past few years.
